Thanks to the development of this peerless system, Wacker Neuson has made an essential contribution to the enhanced efficiency of excavator work. The Vertical Digging System (VDS) compensates with ease for height differences on uneven terrain and quickly sets the operator in an upright position. Not only does this send the costs tumbling, but offers many other benefits, too:
- Greater productivity, improved efficiency: shorter digging times thanks to precise, vertical digging
- Up to 25% time and material savings when excavating and filling-in
- Up to 20% increased stability with full load
- Full all-round slewing power through 360°
- Familiar seat position, fatigue-proof working conditions
How does the Vertical Digging System (VDS) work? VDS enables the stepless inclination of the superstructure through up to 15°, so making it possible to compensate for slopes at an angle of up to 27° at the mere touch of a button. This enables precise, vertical digging on the most uneven of terrain. Operator efficiency and comfort thus get a considerable boost. >>>VDS video
When is VDS used? In daily excavator use there are lots of instances when the VDS can make all the difference when compared to what traditional excavators have to offer. Basically, it is deployed wherever different height levels need to be compensated for (e.g., working on embankments or straddling pavement kerbs). >>>Download the brochure
How can VDS improve efficiency? On uneven terrain, VDS shortens the digging times through its precise, vertical digging, thereby considerably increasing productivity and work efficiency. This leads to material and time savings of up to 25% when both excavating and filling in. This keeps expensive preparatory work to a minimum and reduces significantly the costs and man-hours.
What other advantages does VDS have to offer? The Vertical Digging System also has much to offer it in terms of user-friendliness and safety. The stepless inclination of the superstructure is operated simply and smoothly, and is easy to adjusting the driver's seat. As well as the easy handling of the VDS, the upright seating position takes a lot of the strain off the operator’s spinal column and therefore makes working fatigue-free. Furthermore, thanks to the high stability under full load with the VDS at up to 20%, the full slewing power of the excavator through 360° remains entirely unaffected. Other points in its favour are the simplicity and the robustness of the system.
Which excavators can be ordered with the VDS option? There are 7 models ranging from 1.7 to 5t charge weight:1703, 2003, 2404, 28Z3, 3503, 38Z3, 50Z3.
